Yoga For That Summer Body

Look around online or listen to fitness gurus, and you will hear about some of the great benefits of yoga - how it is helpful for bringing yourself a clear mind, allowing you to work out every part of your body, working on flexibility and endurance, and generally being a relaxing exercise that anyone can try in the comfort of their own home.

However, did you know that yoga might be something you should consider looking into for getting that summer shape you crave? After all, the cold snap of the winter might hamper your enthusiasm for working out, but summer is the perfect time to break out that summer body, hit the pool, and hang out with those closest to you. Yoga can help you achieve that swimsuit-ready form in conjunction with other exercises. How does it work?

1. The Santolanasana Pose

This pose is great for working on form and concentrating on holding your posture. Here is how you can work on forming this pose for yourself.

Using your palms, lift your body upper body and knees up, being sure to use your toes to hold onto the floor, doing your best to keep your knees straightened.

Try to keep your knees and spine aligned.

2. The Dhanurasana Pose

This pose comes in handy for maintaining flexibility, and can even help relieve stress. Here are the steps to properly form this posture.

Bend your knees, holding your ankles tight with your hands.

With a good grip, lift your legs and arms in the air as high as you can, and then hold the pose for as long as possible.
